I have been cleaning the house today & doing all my water changes before we leave on Thursday for vacation.
As I was cleaning the tanks downstairs... I noticed that
Mr. Darcy ( my "old" Gld. marble angel) had died.
He was just lying there stuck in the plants. Sad. I didn't see anything that would of caused it.
He was an old fellow, though....almost 5 yrs.
I guess I can at least find comfort in that
I think he went out being happy.
He got to spawn one last time.
I think it takes a lot out of them, though, honestly...and perhaps was too much for him. Mr. Darcy's fry never made it either....so guess I won't have to worry about them while we are gone. It well could of been that they were too "weak"... because of his age.
I feel bad for Izzy ( his "Zebra" mate). She honestly is sulking. Her stripes have faded. Isn't that crazy? I feel so sad for her. I do not see that she is exhibiting any disease symptoms...( so I pray it is just sulking..and not anything else). Everyone else in there seems to be fine.

Anyways..seems many of the Angels I started out with years ago have all gone to the fish pond in the sky.
Sad as it is ..that just happens.
For those of you that may remember..here is a trip down memory lane...

Sorry to hear about Mr. D. I guess life is not always easy for the male of the species, and i guess you do need a vacation now. Things always seem to look better when you get back home from a trip.

And thanks for the slide show. I remember some of those pictures from AWF.

So sorry to hear your sad news. We have a couple of gold marbles maybe later on we can figure out how to get one to you. They have not paired up yet, so not sure out of the 5 we have which are which. Again sorry about Mr. Darcy and the fry that never were.

So sorry again Diane. Just keep your eye on Izzy just in case. I think she likely is sulking, she had a spawn that wasn't viable and now she's lost Mr. Darcy. I know from experience that they are very aware of losing their mate.

Enjoy your vacation anyway, I'm sure it will be nice to get away.

Take care,
Leah

Awwww, I really am sorry to hear of your loss, and I know how it can be an emotional thing.
I recently lost 3 of my Puffer fish and although I didn't have them as long as you had your fish, it's still a sad thing.
Hope you have an enjoyable time on your vacation.
