This morning while I was responding to a posting on this forum, I was watching a pair of albino paradise fish put on their spawning displays in a small desk top aquarium. I looked away for a few minutes, and when I looked back, the male was stuck, head first, in the filter tube. He drowned. Paradise fish can breathe air, but they have small gills. Maybe I frightened him when I sat my tea jug down on the desk. Anyhow, one or both of us did a stupid thing.

I am sorry you lost your fish John. I know how excited you have been about your albino paradise fish. It would have been interesting to know exactly what took place.

One of the other males built a bubble nest right after I did a partial water change today. Now if I can make some good infusoria. The last batch evaporated because I put it outside in the 110 degree heat.

LOL, I know how that goes. Well, not from personal experience with infusoria, but certainly the part about Arizona heat and evaporation. I am glad to hear you still have a male you can use for breeding.
