Arizona summers are usually much too hot for growing tomatoes, but this year was sort of a magic one. I planted a half dozen or so last January and started picking in March. Yesterday, I picked about 15 pounds of tomatoes and am going to cook up and can a bunch of salsa today. OK, it has nothing to do with aquariums, but I just had to brag. Urban gardeners in the Phoenix area will appreciate my remarkable achievement, if not my great modesty.

The salsa was a bit too hot, so I had to pick some more tomatoes. They probably won't last through July, but the salsa will keep for a couple years in the canning jars.

Mmmmmm, salsa and chips. One of my favorite snacks. I like homemade salsa even though I haven't made any myself. A teacher my husband worked with gave him some as a gift. He didn't seem to care for it, but I loved it. Congratulations on your achievement John.
