I guess aquabid.com is a good place. But since guppies are plentiful, not much people will buy unless you give them one heck of a bargain. You may have better luck just giving the back to the LFS.

Oh wow. Maybe friends will take them for you? The ones that say you have no life and maybe then they will understand why fish keeping is so addicting.

. none of them are responsible enough. I tried with my best friend, and i ended up cleaning the tank and feeding them every day! ( she lives next door) So i was like, forget this!

Well I guess the other option is to beg your mom until she finally snaps and gets you another tank.......hopefully. Or she might just punish you instead......... Tell her it's for educational purposes. Maybe that'll convince her. That usually convinces a lot of parents......

Oh gosh what a pain. If she asks, I didn't say anything. Did you ask if you could put it in your room?

Does your mom think the fish are creepy or something? Well I've run out of ideas. Maybe there is another local fish store somewhere nearby.

Tell your mom that a really old guy who keeps aquariums said clean ones don't smell. In addition, aquariums are educational because they teach you about biology, botany and chemistry, not to mention issues like growing up, forming relationships, and handling end of life situations. In many ways, an aquarium is a microcosm of the rest of the world. If you understand how an aquarium works, you'll understand how life cycles work.

Maybe that's putting it on a little thick, but it's mostly true.

I think your dad needs to get an aquarium. Once he gets hooked on the hobby, you'll have a house full of them. Just ask my wife. See if he knows what parthenogenesis is, and tell him you learned it while researching aquarium critters. Or impress him by explaining the nitrogen cycle.

My dad is into astronomy, he says go to www.worldwidetelescope.org. It's a free program from microsoft and it's a work in progress, so it doesnt work well with ATI video cards.

Take a look at my dad's website, www.pc-tamer.com

I'm also interested in cosmology but am awful on computers. An aquarium would provide your dad with a relaxing time out from taming all those gigglebytes and stuff.
