Most cichlids are pretty aggressive, but they all have different behavior patterns. If you try Google and put in their Latin name or even their common name, it should lead you to a website that will give behavioral details. If you just introduced the fish to a new aquarium, they may be acting shy because they're not yet comfortable in their new environment. Are the water parameters all within reasonable limits? Do they have any large, aggressive tank mates? Are they claiming a territory in order to spawn? I hope some of those ideas will help, and I hope you'll visit this forum often.
