small white, hair-like worms in my tank! ew! gross, can they hurt my fish? they are ALL IN my 1 gal, and not so much in my two 10 gals, but what is it? i also have snails, and ive heard they come from them. any answers?
I think they are planaria.
here is the best pic i could get. those tiny strings, they look like small scratches, but no! they are worms! and they are clustered at the top.
Probably a type of warm. Most are beneficial. I have many in my tank and never had a problem.
Those types of guys are always in our aquariums. Isn't that exciting?! WE just don't' see them unless the population explodes and population explosions are usually the result of over feeding. They're not bad things, just creepy!
Do a partial water change daily for a few days and cut back on feeding. You'll find, at least, there will be fewer of them visible - they may go back into hiding all together.
