Either get some loaches (clowns love snails although I now know that kuhliis dont... maybe just the bigger ones do) or there are loads of treatments called things like 'had a snail' or 'snail away'. I've never tried those... maybe someone can advise.
IME they tend to die off when first put in a tank and then the new leaves go nuts when they emerge. This ties in with the advice which arrived with them when I ordered which said that although they often react to changes in water, they will often go on to be your best specimens in a tank. Mine are prolific (in all kinds of water parameters - I have at least one in each tank) but they took a while to get there. Remove the browning leaves and leave them to it.

I have a heap of tiny snails in my 50g tank, I think i got them off a new plant i put in. Is there anyway of killing them without harming the fish and plants? They are driving me mad. Also has anyone had amazon sword plant? Is it prone to leaf infections? Mine seems to be eaten, i am not sure if it is the snails
I had a problem with snails about a year ago. They completely destroyed my live plants. To get rid of them I used 'Rid-a-snail' sold in my pet store. It is copper and kills invertebrates. So it is safe for your plants (they like a little copper as a trace element) and fish. One thing tho, if you have shrimp, it will kill them too.
I make the chemical suggestion now because if you don't use it soon, you will loose all your plants. Some snails are great tank mates, some are not. In future pick up a few clown loaches to keep the snails out of the tank. I have a few red tailed loaches which love a snail or two also.

I have 2 amazon sword plants and they are quite hardy plants. Sounds like snails.

I bought 3 skunk botia (loaches) for my 10 gallon and dump snails in there from the larger tanks as I find snails. So far the loaches seem quite happy and the snail population is kept in check. I also feed them sinking pellets and tablets, just as I do for my Corys. I bought skunks because I didn't want fish that would grow really large.
