Just looking up some marine aquarium fish, partially because I'm at work and (a little bored) and also because I feel like I'm so ignorant to a lot of fish species. I found some interesting ones. This is the anthias, one fact that I found was interesting was that it supposedly needs to be fed at least three times a day.

This next one is the longhorn cowfish which is a variety of a box fish, and it has horns that potrude from front of it's head and is a bright yellow with little bluish spots. One of the really cool factors that I learned about them was that when they are stressed out or feel threatened they release toxins from their body.

This next one is the total opposite of the cute clown-looking fish, the anemonefish, this one is the saddleback clownfish. It is black with white stripes and a yellow nose.

This is the purple firefish which is a dartfish, they are supposed to be resistant to disease and they also like to leap so you should keep the top on your aquarium and don't let them get out.

This one is really cool-looking it is a mandarinfish and is a member of the dragonet family and unless it is in a really large well-established tank it will not survive in captivity.

This is an orange-spotted filefish and should only be taken care of by an expert and will only have a chance to survive if it has live coral with it, and should only be kept with sea horses and pipe-fish or in a species-specific tank.

Wow thanks for the info. I was thinking about starting a marine tank but I still don't have the necessary experience from freshwater tanks to even start thinking about touching that bag of aquarium salt.
Oooh.......fish

From what I've read, the lionfish are carniverous and they like to hang out in caves and hide in dark places so if you ever do decide to have them in your aquarium you should replicate that feature. They will eat smaller fish, crustaceans and should be kept with larger fish that won't bother them.

With the mandarin fish, they are reef dwellers if I have not already said that and are considered difficult to keep because they have very specific feeding habits wanting for the most part to only eat amphipods and copepods.

Let me know if you want to know anything else and I will try to find it for you.
