I have a year old hexagonal reef tank that is 30 inches tall and 150 gallons. The acrylic is 1/2' thick. I have noticed with time the development of many small lines visible which run horizontally on both sides of the vertical seams in my tank. No leaks, cracks apparent. Is this a natural thing that happens with acrylic tanks?

hi. The bottom of my 90 gal came off when I tried to left it off the stand with 'only' 3 inch of wet sand! I started to have problem when the clear acrylic joints developed small lines, and a salt creep in the same area.

Lesson is be careful when moving a tank with anything in it.

Acrylic develops these lines if it was not glued properly, subjected to heat stress, or attacked by solvent. James maybe able to correct or to amend me on this. bye -ck-
