I had a female Sword with a bad case of Ick. We treated the tank for several days, and she managed to give birth to 30 fry before turtling.
We transferred 15 fry to the other tank which we were also treating for Ick (just in case) and 9 apparently died of shock, and six swam out of the trap to where the other pregant Sword ate them like sushi.
We found another 15 fry in the fist Ick tank, still alive after 5 days of Ick treatment and moved them to a trap in that tank. The seem ok, but only swim around a little, hide under the leaves, and I never see them eat anything.
I am concerned they will die.
Any thoughts?

Well, Mom said that the kids would never starve if we put food in front of them... and I guess that applies to fry as well.
Last night they pigged out on Hikiri First Bites.

Fish usually get sick because their environment is less than ideal, so it's important to check water parameters and do regular partial water changes. Medications can cure some fish diseases, but they do not deal with the causes.

Well, the second mother just had her load of fry unloaded, and they are healthly little guys.
I think the first mother, being very sick and all, had hers prematurely. There are still 7 of the 30+ fry alive and doing great!
The second mother had about 25 fry. We drilled a few holes in the trap to increase the water flow through the top and bottom sections as I read that Swordtails do not do well in traps. I figured that as fast water fish, likely the issue was insufficient water flow.
All is well, although a few fry escaped and are living as Ronin in the tank. Hopefully they do not stage a breakout!

Welcome to the forum!
That's great that you've got that many survivors!!!
It's super cool that you considered modifying your trap for your fish!
Congrats!
