hi, I read elephant nose fish would be tank mates for my clown loaches,if I remember it said they need one cave for every elephant nose as well to keep 1 or 7. right now I have 3 clown loaches and 4 cardinal tetra's and two other tetra's I can remember what they are,in 33g tank now I known both the clown's the elephant nose can get big so I just bought used 150g tank.I would like 7 clown's and 7 elephant nose and large school of cardinals.are elephant nose good tank mates and is too many fish for that 150g tank.it will be planted with sand, and will have co2.aswell I keep my loaches in soft water .is this way base or not?any comments or advice is well come.

I made the mistake of getting an elephant nose because he appeared to be compatible with my then tankmates, and there were loads of hiding places. He hid all the time. I fed live food to try to tempt him, and stuff he could root through the gravel for; he still didn't come out. A few weeks later I found him dead and very thin. Suspect he starved.

That's obviously pretty horrible for the fish so I certainly wouldn't recommend them. Maybe one of the old-timers here can offer you some advice to get it right, but my experience was sad
