THey have these fish at the local fish store, i wrote a whole colum on them but it failed to save and i really don't feel like typing for another 20 minutes. This is so sad and cruel.

These fish were ordered from Asian countries. http://www.asiatropicalfish.com/

Sometimes they also inject dye into glass fish. Most serious aquarists agree that it's pretty disgusting, not to mention harmful to the fish. About the only thing we can do about it is refuse to buy the fish or change US import laws.

Have you seen one of the glow in dark zebra fish? Their bizarre colors are the result of gene splicing and not dye injections.

Genetic engineering can be very powerful, and we're likely to see lots more of it. I hope all of its implications are well considered.

I expect that one day genetic engineering will have as much or more impact than computers.

I have never considered even buying these type of fish. I think it is inhumane. But usually the ignorant people who consider fish "throw away" pets are usually attracted to these fish. How sad.
