Today I noticed a knot on the side of the head of my head-light tail-light tetra. It is dark in color and is about the size of a baby pea. It looks like there may be a some white color in the center of it as well. It's located above and to the rear of the eye. Any idea of what it may be?

Tumors (cancer, etc.) take a long time to grow - when they suddenly appear they are bacterial infections and will resolve themself by rupture (like a boil). Do a good gravel vac and 20% water change as the DOC level in the tank may be getting a little high. .........Frank
