Hi,one of my blue gourami's has developed a white lump on one of his front fins. The lump is visible from both sides of his fin and has a raised appearance. He is swimming and feeding ok and does not seem distressed in any way.All my other fish look ok. Some kind of bacterial problem? Don't want to add any treatment to my tank without knowing what it is. Thanks for any help.

John

Just had another look at him and the lump seems slightly reddish on the inside of his fin.

Does the lump look like 'food mold', or is it smooth?

Lumps/bumps that suddenly appear are infections due to bacteria. They resolve themself by rupture (like a boil). .......... Frank
