Tonight I was getting up to feed my fish, and in my 30g one I went to feed them last, and I went to put the food in the tank and one of my Gourami's was at the top (now this is the good part) and sprayed water up out of the tank. To say the least I was shocked as (well you know),I had absolutely no idea that they could do that, and I never seen them do it before. So this is what I need to know is do all gourami's do this, and the only fish I know of that actually spits water is the archer fish, and they don't anything alike, and that leads me to another few questions, are the gourami's and archer fish somehow related?,and if they aren't then could a gourami and archer fish have mated, and created spitting gourami's. I for one am astounded by this, and I had no part in teaching them this. So if you can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks all.

I have 2 flame dwarf Gourami's and one of them likes to spit water at me when I get ready to feed them. It is pretty neat and I also was wondering if that was normal. He can spit only about an inch high, but still pretty neat.
