is it safe to clean the outside glass of a fish tank with windex?

I DEF THINK IT IS I MEAN ITS THE OUTSIDE OF THE GLASS BUT DONT QOUTE ME YET I DO HAVE TO ALSO GIVE MY GLASS A QUICK WIPE DOWN SO IF WINDEX IS FINE ILL BE DOING THIS TONIGHT

There is some danger of the window cleaner getting into the aquarium water, and the fish will not be happy. Why not get a spray bottle, fill it with water and a spoonful of vinegar, and use that to clean the glass. If any of the dilute vinegar solution gets into the aquarium, the worst it can do is slightly lower the pH. It's cheap, and it works.

thank you John...I have water droplet stains on like every side of myaquariums and its starting to look really dirty.

Unless you're at the stage of needing a razor blade scraper, the vinegar mix works great on the outside of the glass. In fact, I need to do that this week.
