WORK

Where does everyone work?
I work in Bakersfield CA for a valve manu and remanufactoring factory called Western Valve...

I'm no longer working( on disability)..
but all my life I have worked various jobs..cashiering....sales..etc.
Even owned my own flower business for seven years.
Latest..and "longest" was at the Bank. I loved it there..
but due to serious health issues..
had to quit.
I am doing much better than I once was...and I credit that to...
God..and the bible..and stuff!

My hubby ( been married 28 yrs.)..works at State Farm...
Unix Systems Administrator. (computers).
Both of our kids ( son & daughter) are grown..have their own places.
Our son-in-law owns a Roofing business. Our daughter has a degree in Interior design..but she is now a stay at home Mom.
And our son works with computers too at Caterpillar ~ as a Network technican.
There ya have it...LOL..

How cool..ha sounds like you have a lot of experiences and im sure many great stories...you should post some of them some time.

I used to work in fullerton as a cameraman filming for an HBO series called MR. SHOW and there was a clip making fun of reality TV shows like jerry springer. A guy in the clip says something like...you need to be nice because god and the bible and stuff...which is pretty much what a lot of people say and do...claim to have a great faith when really they have no idea what they are talking about.

I could share "many" stories with you..about how good the Lord has been in my life. I "can" tell you this. I started out a huge partier..drinking..smoking...you name it..I did it all. Now I can say I do not miss any of it. Long story.
I have to say though.. I agree with your statement.
Many people claim to be christian..or believers in God..and go lead a life that does not reflect Him at all. That is how we ( I consider myself a strong christian) get a bad name.
None of us are perfect...but...geeesh!!
There are some nuts out there that take the word of God clearly out of context..(twist it to suit whatever)..and it causes more harm than God ever intended.
Anyways..don't want to get into this..

Hokey Smokes, Bullwinkle!! This is some interesting stuff, but it's not about aquariums and their contents. On the other hand, I don't have no stinkin job and don't want one on account of being extremely old. Also I don't care much for pop culture on account of being a semi literate old grump. We should give critical thought a chance.

anyways - me saying that makes it sound like I think I am high and mighty, but in all honesty ive taken a break from religion and church. I dont want to be hipocritical.

It's nice to know more about members of this forum, but religion can be an inflammatory subject. We have members from all over the world and of many different religious persuasions, including none. I would hate to see people not participating in our forum because their religious sensibilities were offended. Personally, I love to argue about the subject but not on this forum. I think we should keep this topic going but make it about jobs, hobbies and other stuff. If anyone disagrees, please send me a private message.
