Mollies are very greedy and will move other fish out of the way to get food.
If it's only at mealtimes just make sure to spread the food across the tank to give the platy a chance to feed.

My little dog her name is Oreo!!

How big is the tank?
Is the aggressive fish a male and the other a female?
Are they both males/females

If your tank is too small for these fish, there will be scuffling. A big enough tank will allow the one being chased to get out of the way and hide if needed. If there is nowhere to go, the bullies will bully.

When I look at my tank, there seems to be lots of space, but they are avoiding it. lots of people say you can have up to 5 platies in a ten gallon. I don't want to take my mollies back, I just got them!

20 gallons minimum for platies and 30g minimum for mollies, in my opinion.

Mollies can actually be aggressive fish, it tends to be more likely with black, silver and dalmatian mollies. I had black ones that fought all the time. The more room they have and the more mollies you have, the less likely that fighting will happen.

On the other hand, platies are very, very docile fish. They won't stand a chance with aggressive mollies.

Mollies need a 30 gal tank! If you don't want to take them back, then you have to put up with the problems.

Okay, I'm afraid I have no clue. so here it is. before I got the mollies I got three platy's to go with my first one. one of them terned out to be a boy and one girl was pregnant so I took them back. then I got the mollies, I just would die if I had to do this again! But I don't know how to deal with the fighting! 😭

Forget it, that post was about half an hour ago so I think I'm fine, there not fighting as much. It was problably just because they were hungry. one more thing, how can I make homemade tiny hiding places for when my platy gives birth? 👍

You should have researched first. Now your fish are unhappy in a tank that is too small, and when people answer your question, tell you what is wrong and how to fix it, you have a problem with it. I feel sorry for the pets that didn't have a choice in it.
